Why We Remember: The Sacred Work of Grief

As we enter into Memorial Day weekend and take time to observe Memorial Day, we will look to its beginnings and meanings in worship this morning  and reflect on the ways in which we remember and stay present with our losses. We will explore a “reverence of approach” and how we can find ourselves in right relationship with sorrow, neither too far nor too close. Grief and loss touch us all, it is a communal cup from which we all drink. We will reflect on ways to find renewal in remembering and in the important and ongoing work of grief, the practice of deepening, attending and listening.
