Special Collection: READ USA

READ USA is a Florida-founded organization with a national scope that develops grade-level readers, teen leaders, and transformational teachers with evidence-based, peer-to-peer tutoring and free book choice and ownership to end illiteracy, elevate the teaching profession, and equip and employ eager workforce talent. In the spring, READ USA offers a book fair so that every student in Duval County Public Schools can take home 2 new books of their choice.

READ USA firmly believes that providing access to books that a student wants to read is vital to developing an interest in reading and becoming a better reader. With 61% of low-income households having zero books in them, READ USA created the Book Fairs to level the playing field and give EVERY student the opportunity to choose and own their own books.

Your contribution to the special collection today will support the sponsorship of a READ USA book fair for the children of our neighborhood school Arlington Heights Elementary. Thanks to your continued generosity UUCJ has sponsored this book fair for the past 8 years. Please give generously as we continue this proud tradition of supporting literacy as the only faith based organization to sponsor a READ USA bookfair.
