The Board invites all current members of UUCJ to a congregational meeting on Sunday, January 29th at 12:30 to be held in-person at UUCJ, remotely to Fernandina and on Zoom. A vote will be conducted at this meeting to determine congregational support of the Capital Campaign initiative to renovate the social hall and install an elevator. In keeping with our fiduciary responsibility to our members, the Board has determined that a formal vote to proceed or not on this capital campaign project is necessary before the work can begin or other steps are taken.
This past Sunday, January 8th, Capital Campaign committee members, David Lafitte, Kathleen McKenzie and Peter Racine provided an informative presentation on their plans for the social hall as well as their rationale for the project, followed by a question-and-answer period. If you were unable to attend, the presentation is available for viewing on YouTube here. https://youtu.be/CSg7dXp5pTM
The board understands that members may still have some questions or would like discussion on the capital campaign project before the vote on January 29. A town hall meeting will be conducted on January 22 at 12:30.
Please plan on attending. The board will be providing more information about voting procedures for those who may not be able to attend on that date.
Additional Note: our service on January 29 will be led by Folk Singer and friend of UUCJ- David Roth.
