Office Volunteers Needed

Can you come to Church a couple of hours before the morning Sunday service, or can you donate a couple of hours of your time during weekday office hours? Virginia needs help with weekly office tasks (Sunday video surveillance and front desk staffing; weekday clean-up and preparation of various admin documents). Easy, quick, and varied duties, on your own time. Contact Virginia (admin@uucj.org) to sign up and get trained.

ICARE Small Group Meetings September 30th

Sunday, September 30 after church — ICARE Small Group Meeting(s?)! Coffee and snacks on the deck near the Fletcher Room. Lois Hoeft will lead in the Fletcher Room. The ICARE Team is expecting a crowd so Meg Rohal and Brian Lapinski will be prepared to lead 2 more groups in the Anthony and Channing Rooms.

Weekday Book Club Oct 1st

The selection for Mon, Oct 1 is by J. D. Vance, Hillbilly Elegy (BIO 305.562092 VANCE), memoir of a family and culture in crisis. We will also be discussing recommendations for next year. We will be meeting at Books-a-Million on Atlantic Boulevard from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.

Caring Candles

Ann Winfree is now living at Anthem Lakes.  Her address is 905 Assisi Lane, Unit 3224, Atlantic Beach, FL  32233; phone:  746-7442. Phone calls and visits are welcome as well as cards and notes.

Ann Guest is resting at home for two weeks following her surgery on September 20, 2018.  Phone calls and cards are welcome.

Amanda Plummer was back in church last Sunday and looking very well.  Surgery is not planned for her shoulder.  Best wishes Amanda for your further healing.

Simon and Garfunkel Story Raffle

The Simon and Garfunkel Story is coming to the Times Union Center October 25th, 7:30pm.  UUCJ is in possession of two pairs of tickets for the event and is looking for a couple of lucky winners.  How do you participate?  Look for Darlene Larsen in the Social Hall the next two Sundays…September 16th and the 23rd,  she would be happy to sell you a raffle ticket:  $1 each or 6 for $5.  Drawing will be held in the Social Hall, Sunday September 23rd. You need not be present to win.
