Yes! Our program is December 10. Rehearsals start Sunday, October 29 at 12:30 to 1:30 in the chapel. Our theme is Endings and Beginnings and how they are celebrated in many traditions, Jewish, Japanese, Native American, etc. Music readers and non-readers of all ages are welcome. The Board and Finance Committee invite you to attend the 2018 Mission Budget Workshop on Saturday, October 28. It will be held from 9:00 to 12:00 in the Social Room. The purpose of the meeting will be explain the proposed Mission Budget and get feedback from members about priorities. The Finance Committee and Board will use that feedback plus results of the Mission Funding Effort to recommend a balanced Mission Budget to the Congregation. Information about the Mission Budget will be communicated in advance of the December 10 Congregational meeting as in past years.
Come join Women of all Ages to hear Erin Silas recount her experiences as a professional makeup artist for TV and stage productions. We will meet in the Anothony room at 5:30 on Thursday Oct. 26.
Immediately following the worship service this Sunday, Oct. 15, UUCJ leadership will be hosting a Q & A session regarding the recent data breach at the church for anyone who wishes to learn more about the breach, how UUCJ is responding to it, and what you can do to protect yourself if you fear your personal data were compromised.
Join us in the Social Hall on Friday, Oct. 20th, for some Halloween fun. Pumpkin carving/painting, costume contests, tricks, treats, games, dancing and more! Explore Samhain, All Hallow’s Eve, and the history of Halloween! This event is multigenerational, BYOP (Bring your own pumpkin), and bring a treat for the treat table. Doors open at 6:30pm.
The first step this year in our partnership with AHE was to place a Teacher Support Cabinet in the school. We want to fill it with items that teachers normally pay for themselves. If you want to add items, please bring them in to the bin in the social hall. As the teachers fill out the “wish list”, items will be requested. They are in dire need of funds to repair the church roof and steeple which was destroyed in a tornado. This event caused
the minister to cancel his trip to UUCJ. Please be generous in their time of need.
UUCJ Foundation meeting will be held on Sunday, Oct.29, at 12:30 PM in the Fletcher Room. All UUCJ members are welcome to attend.
UUCJ Book Club will meet on Monday, Nov. 6, at Books-a-Million in the Regency area at 1:00 PM to discuss the novel Small Great Things, by Jodi Picoult. All are welcome.
