Church in the Time of Covid

It will be great to be back in-person in our own chapel for a service that feels familiar. Because of lingering precautions from the Covid epidemic, we will have some small adjustments to get used to for awhile. In order to be able to trace any infection that might occur, we’ll have to know who attends our services in person, so be prepared to have some kind of check-in. We are cautioned about shared materials, which would include offering plates,…

New Normal Team Update

At the first in-person UUCJ service since March 2020, the New Normal Team recommends the following precautions: All members and guests should be vaccinated. Because of the higher riske of infection with COVID-19 variants, all members and guests must still wear masks when indoors at UUCJ services. Unvaccinated persons should attend meetings, services, and other activities virtually until the incidence of COVID 19 infections are minimal (less than 1/100,000 new cases per day) in our area. Before removing their masks…

Minister’s Message for November 2021

Dear Ones, The theme for this month is “holding history.” While our history does not have to determine our future, it does have a significant impact on who we are today. The joys and the sorrows, the achievements and the failures, the hopes and the disappointments of each stage in a life leaves its mark on the present. Understanding our personal history is an essential part of spiritual growth and development. For many of us, we choose to remember only…
