Help feed our neighbors.
UUCJ/ACS Teamsters delivered 72 pounds of groceries this week and 30 last week. We are currently projecting that we could contribute 1,000 pounds more groceries than 2019. Some UUCJ members are dropping off their grocery contributions since we no longer collect donations at UUCJ on Sundays, and several have switched to donating cash. I have to borrow the phrase we use in ICARE: “When we work together, great things happen.”
Message from Mary Louise Weber, Executive Director of Arlington Community Services: “It’s back to school time, and we appreciate your donations of school supplies and backpacks. So far, we’ve been blessed to feed 109 folks and help 8 families with rent/JEA in August. Thank you for helping us to serve our neighbors!”
Current needs are: canned potatoes, mixed beans, mixed veggies, canned pasta, gravy, instant potatoes, Jiffy Cornbread Mix, pop-top pasta dinners, sweet potatoes, stuffing mix, tuna, chili, Jell-O, laundry detergent, bottled water, and small toiletries for the homeless. Be Safe. Do Good.
