Keep on Trucking – A message from UUCJ/ACS Teamsters
We may exceed previous year contributions from UUCJ members by 1,000 pounds. We know that some members and friends have made cash contributions directly to Arlington Community Services and given Carlos, the shop steward for the UUCJ/ACS Teamsters, funds to purchase food. We delivered 40 pounds today and 76 pounds last week. At the end of July we found out members had donated 75 pounds directly to ACS. Arlington Community Garden harvested 36 pounds in July for ACS and has grown over 5,000 pounds of fresh food for ACS over the lifetime of this partnership.
Message from Mary Weber, ACS Executive Director
Don’t let the situation get the best of you…Let it bring out the best in you! —Jon Gordon
Thank you for your abundant support and prayers during these uncertain times. We fed 212 folks and helped 21 families with rent/JEA in July. We continue to be blessed to serve our neighbors!
Current needs are canned peas, corn, gravy, instant potatoes, Hamburger Helper, Jiffy Cornbread Mix, pop-top pasta dinners, sweet potatoes, tea bags, laundry detergent, bottled water, and small toiletries for the homeless.
Be Safe. Do Good.
