Rev. Roberta on site 2/5-2/9

Our Transition Minister, Rev. Roberta Finkelstein, will be on site from Wednesday evening (February 5) through Sunday afternoon (February 9th). 2020 Service Auction News

The Service Auction will take place March 29th this year. If you feel like it’s coming around quickly this year — it is! It usually happens in May. Two reasons for the date change:  less competition from other events in March than May and more time in the year to schedule our service donations. The Fundraising Team is feeling very encouraged about the new year 2020…

Weekday Book Club News

Beginning with our next session February 3, we will meet in the UUCJ’s Social Hall, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Selections: February 3: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles; March 2: Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. All are welcome.

Our congregation has come through in a generous way for our Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. The 2019 campaign raised $2,205.55 through chocolate sales, coin boxes, and personal donations. It’s heart-warming to know that we have not forgotten our global partners while we go through our period of healing and growth.

Chancel Table Decorations

The lovely decorations on the Chancel Table each week are complements of three volunteers who rotate on a monthly basis.  Nicole Smith Scott presented the charming woodland winter scene for December, and Sara May has shared beautiful plants with us to enjoy during January.  Betsy Deuerling will decorate for February. Send in Your Stories!

Rev. Marti is looking for (short) stories from congregants about  positive chance encounters with strangers — local stories, especially for sermon” fodder” for this Sunday, January 26. She will be collecting  them through Saturday evening for incorporation in her message. Please send to bridgeminister@uucj.org
