The Florida Immigrant Coalition is a statewide alliance of more than 62 member organizations, including farm workers, students, service providers, grassroots organizations, and legal advocates, who come together for the fair treatment of all people, including immigrants. They accomplish their mission through coordination of immigrant organizations and community education, organizing, and advocacy. (You may have seen Basma Alawee, Florida refugee organizer with FLIC, in our pulpit.) UUCJ has been approved to be a member organization with FLIC, joining such organizations as the UU Congregation of Miami, UU Church of Fort Myers, Gainesville Interfaith Alliance for Immigration Justice, and many others. Huge thanks to Jennifer Tucker for building our relationship with Basma and her work with Jacksonville immigrants. We are proud to be a supporter of this important organization!
