Longtime UUCJ member, Ann Winfree, passed away on July 19, 2019. Ann had been active in several groups and committees including Our Gang (outing group), Weekday Book Club, Membership Committee/Sunday Usher and Caring Network/Co-chair and Atlantic/Neptune Beaches Neighborhood Coordinator. She retired from the Beaches Branch Library as the Senior Children’s Librarian in 1999. Ann also volunteered for BEAM for many years. A Memorial Service is planned for 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Adele Grage Cultural Center, Atlantic Beach. Cards may be sent to Ann’s daughter, Woody Winfree, 335 3rd Street, Atlantic Beach 32233. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Ann’s children and their families.
Wende Carter had a wonderful time at SUUSI at Western Carolina State University, Cullowhee, N.C. This is a very popular conference with Jacksonville UUs. Wende enthusiastically recommends this annual intergenerational conference to everyone.
