Action with Sheriff Williams to Recoup $600,000 in Funding for JREC

ICARE was instrumental in recently compelling Sheriff Williams to secure increased funding to the Jacksonville Re-Entry Center (JREC), a program with a proven track record of successfully assisting ex-offenders in returning to their communities. Although we succeeded in increasing funding to JREC to $1.5 million, JSO lost $600,000 of that annual funding. We will be asking Sheriff Williams to commit to recoup the full $1.5 million JREC budget by 2019. We will ask for this commitment on Tuesday, January 23rd, 12:30 pm to 3 pm at Greater Grant Memorial AME (5533 Gilchrist Road). We need as many people as possible to show up to demonstrate to Sheriff Williams that JREC is a priority to this city and it must receive additional funding.
