We’ll be mindfully walking our labyrinth on Sunday, March 4, 10:15 to 10:45. March is the month of the Vernal Equinox (March 20) with the light growing longer and coming into balance with the dark. So too, we can walk to bring insight and balance into our lives. Join us! Beginners welcomed! (We’ll next walk April 8, after Easter Sunday.)
Come play in the dirt with people of all ages! Alice Shinkos will be leading us in some “Green” beautification! This Sunday we are prepping the land and getting the soil ready for some planting later this month. We plan on planting Florida natives and building on what the Youth of this congregation have already started. This activity is for everyone, so come dressed to play in the dirt! See you Sunday at 12:30pm in front of the campus. Contact Tyler Burley with any questions.
March 11th, 12:30 in the Barton Room.
“What’s for Supper?” Plant based quick and easy meals that everyone will love! Lisa Franzino doing demo.
Please join us after the service, March 4th, to help with planning this year‘s annual spring retreat. Come with ideas, suggestions or if you would like to be a part of this years staff. We will meet at 12:15, room to be announced during service or join us through your phone as a tele-conference.
Join Our Gang at the Riverside Arts Market on Saturday, March 3, at 11:00 am, for lunch and shopping. Then walk to Cummer Museum and Gardens, where admission is free on the first Sat. of each month. We will browse the galleries and walk in the gardens, which are being restored after hurricane damage. Contact Barbara Robinson at [email protected] or 904-874-2603 for more info.
The February 18 recipient of our Special Collection will be Habijax. In addition to offering them monetary support, we can also help by participating in the “HabiJax 30th Anniversary Interfaith Build.” Diverse people of faith from all across Jacksonville will be coming together in March to help build a home. Led by an experienced Team Leader, volunteers will work on projects such as house wrap, window install, caulking, vinyl siding, painting, landscaping, laying sod, and cleaning for pre-carpet and final punch. A typical day begins with check-in at 7:45am and concludes at 3:00pm. If you are interested, please sign up here: http://cerv.is/m?0247rFaith2018
Are you interested in ensuring that UUCJ flourishes in Jacksonville for years to come? Then consider joining the Foundation Board as a member or friend. Our purpose is to provide oversight and policy for handling legacy gifts, to educate UUCJ members/friends about including the Foundation in their financial planning, and to thank and recognize those supporting the Foundation. The Endowment Fund is managed by the UUA so you don’t have to be an expert in finance. We seek people with a passion for managing these legacy funds and growing the Foundation. We meet 4 times each year after a Sunday service. If you are interested in learning more, contact Barbara Robinson at [email protected] or call her at 904.874.2603. Don’t wait to let us know if you’re interested – we are planning a fun get together in about 6 weeks to share more about what it means to serve on the Board or be a Friend of the Foundation.
Thursday Feb. 22, Women of All Ages meeting will be at the Regency Square Library Conference Room at 5:30pm. We’ll plan programs for the months ahead. All UUCJ women are invited.
